Tyvek garments are made of high-density flash spun polyethylene which produces a special, nonwoven material that is only available from DuPont. Tyvek provides an optimal combination of the safety, durability, and comfort of any fabric technology of limited use. Tyvek fabric provides an intrinsic barrier to particles low in size. Protection is integrated into the fabric itself; films or laminates are not to be abraded or ground away. The longevity advantage of Tyvek fabric over microporous film fabrics, even after wear and abrasion, provides consistently stronger barriers. Requirements include: abatement / remedy of lead and asbestos, general maintenance / operations, spray painting, general cleaning.
